Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 October 2026 · Updated 22 October 2026 (web version) · Controller: Adrián García Caballero
In short: no accounts, no sign-up. Your province and your quiz result stay on your phone. Only if you choose to vote in the in-app poll, and with your explicit consent, we send your choice and your autonomous community together with a pseudonymised device identifier. You can withdraw that consent and delete your vote at any time. The app is funded by Google AdMob ads, which are only personalised if you agree. On the web version no votes are collected, your answers stay in your browser and Google AdSense ads only load with your consent.
Who is responsible
Decide29N (“the app”) is an independent app for Spain’s general election of 29 November 2026, published by Adrián García Caballero (“we”). Privacy contact: techy@techy.eus.
The app is not affiliated with any political party, public body, the Electoral Board or any official organisation.
What we process and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your poll choice (a party, «Aún no lo sé», «En blanco» or «No votaré») and the autonomous community you assign it to | Computing the in-app poll (aggregate counts and percentages) | Your explicit consent (GDPR art. 9(2)(a) and 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box before voting | Server (Supabase, EU) |
| Pseudonymised device identifier: a random number generated on your phone, of which we only send an encrypted digest (SHA-256) that the server encrypts again with a secret key | Counting each device only once and letting you change or delete your vote | The same consent | Server (Supabase, EU) |
| The version of the consent text you accepted and the date | Being able to prove your consent (GDPR art. 7(1)) | Legal obligation (GDPR art. 6(1)(c)) | Server (Supabase, EU) |
| Province, quiz answers and result, preferences | Making the app work: tactical vote, quiz and settings | They never leave your phone | Your device’s secure keychain |
Your voting intention reveals a political opinion, which is a special category of data. That is why we only process it with your explicit, separate and specific consent, and we never use it for advertising, profiling or any other purpose. The poll database does not store your name, email or IP address, and our code never sends the device identifier in plain text, so we cannot link a vote to a specific person. Like any internet service, Supabase’s infrastructure records connection IP addresses in short-lived technical logs used only for security and never matched with votes.
The poll only shows aggregate counts. Percentages for an area are not shown until it has at least 100 votes, and no results are published during the five days before the election (24–29 November), as Spanish electoral law requires.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Advertising is the app’s only source of income. We use Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited) to show a banner and, at natural breaks such as the end of the quiz or after voting, a full-screen ad. The first time you open the app we show Google’s consent form (IAB TCF), where you choose whether to accept personalised ads. On iPhone, iOS also asks whether you allow tracking across apps; if you don’t, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not used.
Google may process device data, IP address, the advertising identifier (if you allow it) and ad interaction data, as described in its privacy policy and in how Google uses information from partner apps. Your vote, your province and your quiz answers are never shared with Google or any advertiser. You can change your ad choices at any time in Info › Privacidad de los anuncios.
The web version (techy.eus/decide29n)
Decide29N’s tools can also be used in a browser at techy.eus/decide29n. It works without accounts or sign-up, and handles data differently from the app:
- The website does not collect votes. The web poll is read-only: it shows the aggregate counts the app already publishes and invites you to the app to vote. A browser offers no reliable device identifier and we do not want the count to be inflated. The website does not send your choice, your community or any identifier to the poll server; it only requests the aggregate results for the area you pick.
- Browser local storage (localStorage). Your province, quiz progress and answers are stored only in your browser, so you don’t lose the quiz if you close the tab and your province is remembered for the tactical vote. They never leave your device or reach us. You can delete them at any time from your browser’s site data settings; if the browser blocks storage, the quiz still works during the visit.
- Sharing your result. When you press Compartir imagen (“Share image”), the browser draws the image on your device and opens the system share menu or downloads it. Compartir texto (“Share text”) uses the same menu or copies the text to the clipboard. Nothing is sent unless you do it.
- Advertising (Google AdSense). The website is funded by Google AdSense ads (Google Ireland Limited): at most one ad block per screen and never during the quiz questions. Before any ad loads, a consent management platform (IAB TCF) lets you accept, reject or customise cookies and personalisation; ads are only requested if you allow it. Google may process your IP address, browser cookies and identifiers and ad interaction data as described in its privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Your quiz answers, result and province are never shared with Google or any advertiser. More in Cookies y consentimiento.
- Hosting and statistics. The site is hosted on Vercel, which logs technical request data (such as the IP address) for security, and uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate without cookies. These statistics only receive the page address, without parameters, never your answers.
Processors and transfers
- Supabase hosts the poll database in the EU region (Ireland) as a processor.
- Vercel hosts the web version (techy.eus) as a processor.
- Google processes the advertising data described above and may transfer data outside the EU under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Individual votes are automatically deleted on 31 December 2026. After that only aggregate counts per party and community are kept, which cannot identify anyone. If you withdraw your consent earlier, your vote is deleted at that moment.
Sharing your result
If you tap Compartir imagen (“Share image”), the app creates an image of your quiz result on your phone and opens the iOS share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you do it, and the destination you choose is handled by iOS and that app.
Your rights
You can withdraw your consent and delete your vote at any time in Info › Retirar consentimiento y borrar mi voto (“Withdraw consent and delete my vote”); it is deleted from the server immediately. You can also exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by writing to techy@techy.eus. Because we don’t know who you are and cannot link a vote to you from outside your phone, the way to see your vote is the app itself (the poll shows your saved vote), and the same goes for changing or deleting it. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Children
The app is intended for adults who are eligible to vote. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Deleting all your data
First withdraw your consent in the app to delete your vote from the server. Then, if you wish, delete the app from your iPhone: this removes your province, quiz and preferences. Note that iOS may keep the device’s random identifier in the keychain even after you delete the app.
Changes to this policy
If we change how data is processed, we will update this page and its date before releasing the corresponding app version. If the change affects the poll, we will ask for your consent again.
