Privacy Policy for Farline

Farline does not collect personal data. There is no account, no server that stores anything about you, and no analytics. Everything the app knows stays on the device and is removed when you delete the app.

The app keeps the following locally, so it can restore what you were doing:

• saved stations
• recently explored stations
• the time budget you last chose
• filter settings (direct only, service types, transfer margin, night trains)
• how you continue from the arrival station (walking, bike, car)
• app settings
• the cached timetable computed from the bundled feed

None of it is transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes all of it. Saved stations and history can also be cleared inside the app.

Farline can start an exploration from where you are. If you use that, the app asks iOS for a single location reading at that moment and uses it to find nearby stations. The reading is used in memory and is never stored, logged or sent anywhere.

Farline never requests background location and works fully without location permission — you can always search for a station by name instead.

The timetable ships inside the app, so Farline does not need a network connection to calculate anything. Map tiles are drawn by Apple's MapKit, which is part of iOS; Apple's own privacy policy applies to that map traffic and Farline sends no identifier of its own with it.

• no crash-reporting SDK

Journey times come from timetables published as open data by national rail operators and transport authorities. Every source is listed in the app's Settings with its licence and the date it was last updated. Renfe Operadora does not participate in, sponsor or endorse this application.

Some of that data is licensed under share-alike terms, which oblige the derived timetable Farline builds to be offered under the same terms. It is published separately for that purpose; the app itself collects nothing to share.

The app shows the date of the timetable version it carries, because an out-of-date timetable produces a wrong map.

Farline is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, regardless of age.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
